Trolley ("we," "our," or "the app") is a shared grocery list app that lets you and your household members create lists, add items, and stay in sync. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information We Collect

• Account information: your email address and password, used to create and secure your account.
• Profile information: your username and avatar, visible to other members of households you join.
• Household and list data: household names, invite codes, list items, and item status (added, assigned, checked off), shared with members of the same household.
• Notification data: your notification preferences and a device push token, used to deliver notifications you've opted into.
• Friend connections: friend requests and connections you make within the app.

How We Use Your Information

• To operate core app features: creating households, syncing lists in real time, and sending notifications.
• To let household members see relevant activity (e.g. who added or checked off an item).
• To maintain account security and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for advertising.

Data Sharing

Your username, avatar, and list activity are visible to other members of any household you join — that's how the app is designed to work. We do not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

We use Supabase as our backend infrastructure provider to store account and app data securely.

Data Retention

We retain your account and household data for as long as your account is active. You can delete notifications, leave households, or delete items at any time within the app. To request full account deletion, contact us using the details below.

Your Choices

• You can control which notifications you receive in Settings → Notifications.
• You can leave a household at any time.
• You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us.

Children's Privacy

Trolley is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
